How can I check for oxidative stress on my own?
Many people undergo a physical checkup or physical examination once a year. However, oxidative stress is not designated as a mandatory item for health checkups, so in order to find out your oxidative stress level, you need to go to a hospital or clinic that measures oxidative stress and have it measured.
So, what are some of the ways to measure oxidative stress?
First of all, the easiest way to measure oxidative stress is to measure a substance called 8-OHdG in urine. This is at your own expense, but most hospitals and clinics will be able to measure it for you.
The other method is to measure the amount of hydrogen peroxide in the blood. This is called the d-ROMs test.
There is also a BAP test to measure your antioxidant capacity, which is approved as an in vitro diagnostic test in the EU and Korea.
