About Oxidative stress

It has only recently become known that “oxidative stress” is associated with all kinds of diseases. Reactive oxygen species (ROS), the main cause of oxidative stress, are produced daily as a byproduct of daily breathing, as well as by external factors such as ultraviolet rays, radiation, bacteria, viruses, and air pollution, smoking, alcohol, unbalanced diet, illness, and stress. On the other hand, the body originally has the ability to eliminate ROS (antioxidant power), which enables the body to suppress the damage caused by ROS. However, as we age, this function declines, and when ROS cannot be suppressed, cell damage and inflammation occur, leading to as many as 150 different diseases. This imbalance is called oxidative stress.
